Most of what ends up on a wedding day (venue addresses, ceremony and reception times, who's in the wedding party) starts as an answer the couple typed into their questionnaire. Sending it well means fewer follow-up emails chasing details you need later to build the day.
What the questionnaire collects
The questionnaire is organized into three sections:
- Details covers the day itself: ceremony and reception locations, addresses, and times; where and when each partner is getting ready; both partners' phone numbers; and whether they're planning a first look. Location questions use a real address picker rather than an open text box, and time questions use an actual time field, so the answers are values Daymarked can act on later rather than prose you'd have to read and retype yourself.
- Family & Wedding Party collects who's who: the wedding party by role, family members by relationship and side, plus any family-photo requests.
- Vendor Team collects the couple's other vendors.
Anything you've added as your own custom question (see custom questionnaire fields) shows up right alongside the built-in ones.
Sending the link
To send the questionnaire:
- From the wedding, open the Questionnaire panel.
- Add a personal note if you want one. It shows at the top of what the couple sees.
- Choose who's getting it. Each recipient can get a one-time link with no login required, or a login-based account they can return to and update later; mix and match per recipient if it fits how the couple is set up.
- Send it. The email goes out under your studio's name and branding.
Turn on reminders if you'd rather not track it manually: Daymarked nudges the couple automatically on a set cadence until they've submitted. Re-sending a questionnaire that's already gone out reopens it rather than creating a second one, so there's never more than one active questionnaire per wedding.
What happens when the couple submits
There's no separate import step waiting on you. As the couple works through a section, their answers save straight onto the wedding as soon as they finish that section: ceremony details land in ceremony details, and family and wedding party answers become that wedding's people list. You can start building before they've finished the whole thing, once they've gotten through the parts you need.
Daymarked notifies you once the questionnaire is fully submitted. The couple is also asked to type their wedding date fresh as part of the form, as a check against what's already on your calendar for them. If the two don't match, you're notified about that separately, rather than finding out on the day. The link stays open after submission too, so the couple can come back and adjust an answer later. It only stops working if you revoke it or archive the wedding.
